The Hub M2/ M1S/ E1/M1S Gen2 and Camera Hub G2H Pro/ G2H require a secured 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi network connection, while the Camera Hub G3 supports both 2.4/ 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Additionally, the Hub M2 also supports wired connection via Ethernet RJ45.
To ensure a sturdy connection, the Aqara Door and Window Sensor should be within 400 inches of the Aqara Zigbee hub, and the hub should be within the same range from the Wi-Fi router. Additionally, the hub and the router must be on the same local area network (LAN).
The Aqara Door/Window Sensor alerts your phone and triggers the Aqara Hub's local alarm upon unexpected door/window openings. It also controls other Aqara devices based on door/window status. You can set up automations in the Aqara Home app, such as turning on the lights when you open the door in the evening, by connecting the Aqara Door and Window Sensor to the Aqara hub.
The Aqara Door and Window Sensor works with most types of doors, windows, and other fixtures with similar mechanisms, such as drawers and cabinets. The main sensor unit dimension is 1.610.870.43 inch, and the magnet dimension is 0.790.390.39 inch. Please ensure that the surface where you plan to stick the sensor is flat and easily adhesive, and the allowed gap between the door is up to 0.86 inch.
The Aqara Door and Window Sensor is compatible with Apple HomeKit and Alexa for a hands-free experience. (Note: a. Please connect the sensor to the Aqara hub before connecting to Apple HomeKit or enabling skills in Google Home and Alexa. b. The sensor is not currently compatible with SmartThings.)
